These grants are enumerated below which will help create strong and sustainable communities and quality affordable homes for the people of the CNMI. Congratulations to NMHC. $968,331 for the Community Development Block Grant Program: CDBG program funds must be used primarily to benefit low- and moderate-income persons. In addition all projects must prevent or eliminate slums or blight or address community development needs related to a serious and immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community. $48,743 for the Emergency Solutions Grants Program: The ESG program assists individuals and families to regain permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis or homelessness. $325,684 for the HOME Investment Partnerships Program: HOME grants help government and nonprofit partnerships build, buy, and/or rehabilitate affordable housing for rent or homeownership or provide direct rental assistance to low-income people.
