Speaking from the East Room that day, the President claimed he was “eager to see what they have to offer” and “to find out how it is that they want to proceed.” “It didn’t even take President Obama two weeks to break his promise to work with Congress,” said Shimkus. “How can we work with someone who says he’ll do one thing, and then goes and does the complete opposite?
