| http://shuster.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=49&itemid=755 | Shuster Announces Federal Fire Grant Funding Application Period Opens | 2015-12-08 | 2015 | 2015-12 | Republican | House | PA | Bill Shuster | S001154 | shuster.house.gov | legacy | WASHINGTON, DC Congressman Bill Shuster (R-Hollidaysburg) announced that the application period for the FY 2015 US Department of Homeland Securitys Federal Emergency Management Agencys Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program will open today, Monday, December 7th and close on Friday, January 15th at 5:00pm. This grant funding saves lives plain and simple, said Congressman Shuster. We have many first responders across the district that have utilized the AFG program in the past to acquire new vehicles and protective equipment along with using funds to recruit new volunteer firefighters. I urge them to look into this program and to contact my office if we can be of any assistance. The Assistance to Firefighters Grant program helps meet the needs of firefighters, emergency responders, and emergency medical organizations. Funds provided by the AFG program are used to purchase supplies, including new vehicles, protective gear, staff training, and other resources that local departments need to protect the public. For fire departments / applicants requiring assistance please visit www.fema.gov/grants, or contact the AFG Help Desk at firegrants@fema.gov or 1.866.274.0960. Fire departments and other interested entities interested in assistance from Congressman Shusters office or to receive letters of support regarding their grant request can contact the office by calling 814-696-6318. ### | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
