http://shuster.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=49&itemid=878 House Passes National Concealed Carry Reciprocity 2017-12-06 2017 2017-12 Republican House PA Bill Shuster S001154 shuster.house.gov     legacy WASHINGTON – By a vote of 231-198, the U.S. House of Representatives approved H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act. Congressman Bill Shuster (R-Hollidaysburg) cosponsored and voted for H.R. 38, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, which authorizes individuals with a valid permit to carry a concealed firearm to carry in another state, as long as they are in accordance with that state’s laws. “Law abiding citizens protecting themselves should not have to forfeit their constitutional rights at state lines,” said Congressman Bill Shuster. “This is commonsense legislation that strengthens and protects second amendment rights and is long overdue.” In addition, the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act also directs the Bureau of Justice Statistics to report to Congress within 180 days statistics and information on bump stock use in the United States, and strengthens the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) to ensure federal and state authorities are complying with existing law and reporting criminal histories to the NICS. # # # 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
