This program is a proven success, it has already transformed the lives of millions of children nationwide and I am excited that it will now help more kids in Ohio's 15th District, said Stivers. With this funding, our kids will have the tools and resources to succeed and our community will benefit. Afterall, they are our most valuable natural resource. Earlier this year, Representative Stivers led a letter with 33 Members of Congress to the House Committee on Appropriations specifically to secure robust funding for Head Start. This spending bill includes a $550 million increase for Head Start, to make sure that every child nationwide has the opportunity to receive a strong education from the very beginning. I am committed to empowering students with the well-rounded education necessary to compete on a global scale, that is why I am proud to fight for funding for Head Start at the federal level, Stivers continued. Just last week, we passed, with bipartisan support, appropriations packages that included a $550 million increase for these programs so that we can continue to help children get a running start in life. "Head Start children and families thank Congressman Stivers for his steadfast leadership on their behalf," NHSA Executive Director Yasmina Vinci said. "Head Start continues to set the standard for quality early intervention and early learning, providing children birth-to-five and their families with comprehensive services. Thanks to champions like Congressman Stivers, more of Ohio's most vulnerable children and families will have the support of Head Start on their paths to success in school and life." Barbara Haxton, Executive Director of the Ohio Head Start Association also expressed appreciation for Congressman Stivers work on behalf of Head Start adding, He is our hero and staunch supporter and we value his help enormously. Head Start cuts through red tape by working directly with local community systems. Together they provide unique experiences for students and their families that will best prepare them to succeed in early education, and at every stage of life. Specifically, resources are directed to prioritize high quality, evidence-based early education for children and their families based on their specific needs and preferences.
