Glenn GT Thompson (PA-05) voted in favor of funding the government through the remainder of Fiscal Year 2016 (Sept. 30, 2016). The measure passed the House by a vote of 316 to 113. Thompson issued the following statement after passage of the bill: Following yesterdays historic vote on tax reforms that will allow more Americans to keep their hard earned money, today the House has passed a bill to strengthen our national defense and responsibly fund government operations through the remainder of the Fiscal Year. In addition, the bill includes several policy changes, including reforms to the Visa Waiver Program, to ensure we are not allowing those who may intend to harm us into the country. We have also successfully lifted an outdated, 40 year-long moratorium on exporting domestically produced crude oil. Currently, the United States is the only oil producing country in the world with such a ban. Perhaps most importantly, the bill includes several measures to reduce fraud and abuse within government programs, increase transparency from federal agencies, and continues a process of reigning in regulatory abuses that have soared under this administration.
