S. House Chief Administrative Officer’s Wounded Warrior Program. The two-year fellowship provides wounded and disabled veterans with experience and exposure to broaden career opportunities. “I am a strong supporter of our nation’s veterans and when I learned of this program, I knew our office and the people of Ohio’s 12th Congressional District would benefit,” said Congressman Tiberi. “While my office continues to hire veterans and reservists, this program presented a unique opportunity for those transitioning from life in the military.” Congressman Tiberi hired Captain Richard Spicer, United States Marine Corps Reserve, to work in his Central Ohio office. Spicer serves as a Staff Assistant and helps with veterans affairs and military-related constituent services. In addition he manages incoming correspondence, and oversees constituent casework dealing with the Drug Enforcement Administration, student loans, Federal Communications Commission, Federal Trade Commissions, Justice Department, and federal grants. While working in Congressman Tiberi’s Central Ohio office, Spicer is attending The Ohio State University’s John Glenn School of Public Affairs where he is working to complete his Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Management. Spicer, a Houston native, graduated from The Ohio State University in 2008 and went on to Officer Candidates School. As an active-duty marine, he completed two tours in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He was first stationed with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines as a forward observer from 2010-2011 and then with the 2nd Battalion 5th Marines as a fire support coordinator in 2012. “Richard’s hard-working attitude makes him a great addition to the office and his personable nature will definitely help him as he works with constituents in the 12th Congressional District.
