| http://tiberi.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=394873 | TIBERI STATEMENT ON NOVEMBER JOBS REPORT | 2015-12-04 | 2015 | 2015-12 | Republican | House | OH | Pat Tiberi | T000462 | tiberi.house.gov | legacy | U.S. Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-OH), vice chairman of the Joint Economic Committee, today made the following announcement about the unemployment report for November 2015 by the Bureau of Labor Statistics: Todays report highlights what Republicans have been saying, American families arent seeing the benefits of the Obama recovery. Labor force participation remains low and underemployment actually increased. Americans deserve better. Thats why I will continue to work toward passing meaningful, pro-growth policies that will encourage job creation like modernizing our tax code to make it fairer, flatter, and more stable and passing strong trade agreements to help small businesses export American-made products. Todays report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicated that the U.S. economy added 211,000 nonfarm jobs, including 197,000 private sector jobs, and the unemployment rate remained essentially unchanged at 5.0 percent. The civilian labor force participation rate is 62.5 percent. The number of people underemployed, the amount of workers who are working part-time but would prefer to be working full-time, increased by 319,000 to 6.1 million workers. The number of long-term unemployed workers as a percent of the jobless is 25.7 percent. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
