I am disappointed the Air Force has decided to move four C-130 planes out of Youngstown and troubled that local jobs will be lost. They have decided to move these planes regardless of the fact that YARS Airmen have been doing an outstanding job and the base has the infrastructure to support additional planes and additional military and civilian jobs. “YARS has a long and proud history in the Mahoning Valley and a unique capability as the Department of Defense’s only fixed-wing aerial spray unit. I will continue to advocate for the Department of Defense to make long term investments and increase the manpower at YARS to take full advantage of its capabilities.” | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
