Scott Tipton (R-CO) issued this statement following the election of Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) as the Speaker of the House of Representatives: Paul Ryan and Daniel Webster share a similar message that the House should be run with a bottom-up approach that is inclusive and advances our shared conservative goals. Im privileged to call both men friends and want to thank them for their willingness to come forward and lead during this critical time in our nations history. We have a great deal of important work ahead of us in the House, and we have the best chance to make progress in the fight to shrink the size of government and restore American prosperity if we are united and work together as a Republican Conference. Paul Ryan has a strong record of fighting for conservative principles, has garnered support from all aspects of the House Republican Conference, and I am confident he will lead with common sense, inclusiveness and a dedication to advancing the free market, small government ideals that create opportunity and empower Americans to succeed. I look forward to continuing to work with leadership, including Speaker Ryan, to restore economic prosperity in Colorado and across the nation, and to chart a course of opportunity for this and future generations of Americans. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
