Tom Graves (R-GA-14) issued the following statement in support of two bills that the House will vote on this evening to fund noncontroversial areas of the federal government: "If the president believes a shutdown is bad for the economy, he should urge Democrats in Congress to join House Republicans in passing noncontroversial funding bills to keep as much of the government open as possible. The president should also get control of Harry Reid and pressure him to accept our offer to negotiate on our areas of disagreement. “As it stands today, only Democrats are taking the all-or-nothing hardline position.
