Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) and Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) today announced that Monroe Township in Clarion County has been awarded an Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) grant totaling $300,000 to build a local access road which will aid in the construction of a new assisted living facility. Sen. Toomey and Rep. Kelly wrote a letter of support on behalf of Monroe Township's grant application in April. "I'm pleased to announce this ARC grant for Monroe Township," said Sen. Toomey. "It is important that our delegation continue to work together to assist public/private partnerships which are providing essential services and quality housing opportunities to Pennsylvania seniors. I thank Rep. Kelly for his support of this project and congratulate Monroe Township on this award." "Congratulations to the Monroe Township Board of Supervisors' WRC Senior Services for getting this grant from the ARC," said Rep. Kelly. "It's always good to see when our seniors are taken care of as they should be. I particularly want to thank Sen. Toomey's office who really took the lead on supporting this project and I'm very happy the efforts have been successful." The local access road is a vital part of a public/private construction project which will bring new facilities to Monroe Township that will provide assisted living care and housing for approximately 55 seniors. Additionally, 31 independent senior living cottages will also be constructed. Upon completion, the new facilities, which will be owned and operated by WRC Senior Services, are expected to create 46 new jobs. "On behalf of WRC Senior Services, I want to thank the ARC for providing this much needed grant funding to Monroe Township for a new Assisted Living facility that will be owned and operated by WRC. The project will create new jobs, and will provide valuable services to our community for years to come. I would especially like to thank Sen. Toomey and Rep. Kelly for their assistance in securing this grant," said Frances Roebuck Kuhns- President & CEO, WRC Senior Services. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
