As of November 2, only 27,000 people nationwide have signed up for a new health insurance plan using HealthCare.gov – 1,329 of those people are from Michigan. The state’s decision will allow health insurers to reinstate the canceled policies.“Over the past several weeks, we have heard from hundreds of folks in Southwest Michigan who took the President at his word, but are now losing their current policies and are facing higher premiums and deductibles,” said Upton. “Last week, the House passed my bipartisan Keep Your Health Plan Act to help provide relief for folks here in Michigan and millions like them across the country. I applaud Gov. Snyder for his leadership and work to allow the same freedom and flexibility here in Michigan.” On Nov. 15, 2013, the House of Representatives passed Upton’s bipartisan Keep Your Health Plan Act (H.R. 3350) by a vote of 261 to 157.
