Fred Upton and Republicans in the Michigan Congressional Delegation released the following video to promote efforts in the U.S. House of Representatives to pass H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. This historic legislation, which updates the tax code for the first time since 1986, will benefit Michigan middle-class families by doubling the standard deduction, expanding the Child Tax Credit, and creating more opportunity for success. In October, the Michigan members also joined forces on an op-ed in the Detroit News highlighting the benefits the tax plan would have on Michigan middle-class families and small businesses. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed out of the Ways and Means Committee on Thursday, and is expected to receive and up or down vote before the full House of Representatives later this week.
