Congressman Veasey will present Mr. George Padilla with four different medals that he earned during his service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Padilla served in Korea from 1967 – 1970 during the Vietnam War where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Marksman Badge & Rifle Bar, and the Korea Defense Service Medal. Mr. Padilla will also accept medals on behalf of his grandfather, Mr. Jose Padilla. His grandfather will be presented two medals for his service to the United States during World War I: The World War I Medal & Defense Sector Battle Clasp and the World War I Victory Button. Mr. Padilla joined the U.S. Army in 1918 and he served at Camp Dixon, New Jersey and worked as military police. Mr. Cato Christopher Delley will be presented the American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal & Bronze Star Attachment, World War II Victory Medal, and Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII for his service as an air warden during the Vietnam War. His daughter, Ms. Rayella Boyd, will receive the medal on behalf of her late father.
