Out of hundreds of nominations from across the Lone Star state, Mr. Sharpe was one of three teachers selected for the prestigious honor. As a strong advocate for advancing education in the Metroplex, Congressman Veasey will have the honor of presenting Graham Sharpe with the prestigious recognition. “I have always believed that education is not only a pathway to opportunities, but an imperative step to success. As a former substitute teacher of Poly High School, I recognize the impact teachers have in molding the minds of our future. Teachers like Graham deserve recognition for leading and developing students to achieve their greatest potential.” The 2013 Humanities Texas Award for Outstanding Early-Career recognizes exemplary contributions of early-career humanities teachers who have completed three or fewer years of teaching.
