Our nation’s timid and tepid regulations are failing to protect children, who are being callously lured into a lifetime of addiction by tobacco companies who continue to entice youth with cynically flavored e-cigarettes. This study confirms and amplifies earlier research that shows children who have not previously used traditional tobacco products are experimenting with e-cigarettes—a glaring alarm bell that should serve as a call to action to lawmakers and regulators. We must act swiftly and strongly to protect children from this growing health scourge,” Blumenthal said.
