The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC) plans and executes all Inaugural activities at the United States Capitol, including the Inaugural swearing-in ceremony of the President and Vice President of the United States and the traditional Inaugural luncheon that follows. For additional information, please visit http://inaugural.senate.gov and check back frequently since it will be updated as more information becomes available. I am pleased to take requests from residents of Missouri for the Inaugural Ceremony. Each Congressional office is allocated a limited number of tickets, most in viewing areas well removed from the platform and standing room only. Tickets to the Inauguration Ceremony are free and required for every person, including children and infants in arms. HOW TICKETS ARE DISTRIBUTED My office is keeping track of ticket requests in the order they are received and will provide information as it becomes available. Every effort will be made to distribute tickets on a “first-come”, “first served” basis for constituents from Missouri. Due to the anticipated demand and the limited number of tickets to the ceremony, each request will be limited to four tickets. Please request tickets only for those who are fully committed to travel to Washington for the Inaugural Ceremony. Ticket requests will be accepted through 5:00pm EST, December 5, 2016. Any requests made after the deadline will be placed on the waiting list. The deadline has been set to allow constituents attending the Inauguration enough planning time for travel and accommodation arrangements to be made. Making a request does not a guarantee you will receive a ticket, but my office will be in touch with everyone who places a request. Notification of ticket allocation should occur by the middle of December. If you are selected to receive tickets, you will be required to pick up the tickets in person prior to the ceremony. The person requesting the tickets must be available to pick up the tickets in Washington and will be asked to provide a photo ID at the time of ticket pick-up. Tickets may be picked up from 9:00am-5:00pm January 16-19, 2017. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Tickets may not be sold. In addition, handicapped access is provided in each section of tickets; therefore there are no tickets specifically marked as handicapped-accessible. If you are not a Missouri resident, please check with the Senator or Representative of your home state for tickets. You may look up your representative at http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/. Please note that there are many inaugural events, both official and non-official. Tickets are to the Inauguration Ceremony only. My office will not be able to provide tickets to any other event. The Inaugural Parade and official Inaugural Balls are handled by the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC). CONSIDERATIONS As you consider coming to Washington, D.C. for the Inauguration, please keep in mind: -Washington winters are cold. Be prepared for cold weather. Typically, temperatures in January in Washington average from a low of 28°F to a high of 43°F. -Security measures will be in place and taken very seriously. Be prepared to go through metal detectors and have bags checked. Security requires ticket holders to arrive at least a couple hours early, carrying no seats or large bags. -Transportation options will be limited.
