U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced $24,000 in new federal funding for Meigs County to take steps toward improving the Rutland Sewer Treatment and Collection Systems. Investing in local water and sewer infrastructure helps ensure clean water and the creation and retention of jobs, said Brown. This grant will give Meigs County the ability to move forward on needed upgrades to Rutlands sewer collection and treatment system. The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Agricultures (USDA) Rural Development agency. The $24,000 will give Meigs County the ability to develop a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) and Environmental Report (ER) for improvements to the Rutland Sewer Treatment and Collection Systems. Once both reports are complete, Meigs County will be able to start the necessary repairs to ensure the systems are in working condition. ### Press Contact Meghan Dubyak/Rachel Petri(202) 224-3978 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
