Moran Statement on FY2016 Omnibus Vote 2015-12-18 2015 2015-12 Republican House KS Jerry Moran M000934 www.moran.senate.gov     legacy WASHINGTON U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) today issued the following statement following the Senate vote on the omnibus federal spending bill: I voted against the $1.1 trillion federal spending bill known as the omnibus today because it allows the Obama Administrations pattern of sidestepping Congress to enact flawed policy to continue on, unchecked. A successful negotiation is about give and take and should result in a balanced compromise. This deal falls far short and fails to include important restrictions that would protect the middle class and small businesses from unlawful executive overreach. Instead, it gives the president and Congressional Democrats exactly what they wanted increased spending without accountability. Congress must uphold its responsibility to protect American families by reining in the executive branch. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
