http://yoder.house.gov//media-center/press-releases/rep-yoder-calls-on-house-and-senate-leaders-to-work-out-a-compromise Rep. Yoder calls on House and Senate leaders to work out a compromise 2013-12-01 2013 2013-12 Republican House KS Kevin Yoder Y000063 yoder.house.gov     legacy Rep. Yoder calls on House and Senate leaders to work out a compromise Washington, DC – Congressman Kevin Yoder made the following statement after the Senate failed to pass a House budget continuing resolution to keep the federal government open and operational: “It’s heartbreaking that Congress could not get its work done on time to keep the federal government open and running. Members of Congress on both sides of the aisle worked late into the night, and we’re working again today to try to arrive at a solution that resolves our differences and opens the government quickly. Closing the federal government is simply unacceptable. As we lurch from defaults, to fiscal cliffs, to government shutdowns, I know most of the country is fatigued and frustrated with the inability of Washington to work together to solve big problems.  There is a reasonable compromise here and I hope both sides will tone down the rhetoric and work towards finding a balanced approach to solving our problems. Regardless of our differences, we are all Americans and our leaders must always put the American people first. Shutting the government down does not do that. Today, I call on House and Senate leaders from both parties to work together and find a compromise.  I will continue to do all that I can to use my voice and my vote to advocate for a responsible solution that moves us past this impasse. We are the greatest nation in the world and we deserve a government that is reflective of that greatness.” ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
